The scent of a fresh fruit basket first drew my attention to this particular strain. Not only did the name sound tasty, but the aromatic sweet melon smell gave my nose a burst of freshness! It was a refreshing change to all the dank I have been sniffing while browsing at my favorite local club, MedEx Collective on Senter Road in San Jose.

When smoked at its prime cure, this bud has all the mixed sinful elements of chocolate covered fruits. It tastes light and smooth and packs a naughty punch when you realize the cloud forms in front of your eyes. The same sweet fruity smell lingers around your nose like those hanging scented tree placed on car rear-view mirrors.

Chocolope(S/I) is a sativa dominant hybrid giving you a strong head high follow by a super relaxing warm body stone that will knock you out to sleep. I love smoking this strain right before I have a meal because it gives me clear vision to prepare my meal and then creeps up on me during my meal to enhance the taste-buds.

*Or so I thought... The free 1/8th was actually a preselected 1/8th. The high was a chill indica warm body high but the weed was so loose and leafy that it seems most of the weight were from the stems. But who can complain about free weed (ahhhhhhh :) Thank you Saturday Special ^_^...

Getting to the club was a little weird since you pass a bunch of construction  before turning into what looks like a neighborhood before you arrive at the lovely tagged-up club! The club is divided into 3 main rooms, the front desk, the lobby, and the bud bars where the lobby are inbetween the other two rooms.  All of the rooms were a little cramped but they did well with the space they had. The bud bar, however, could be rearranged for better flow. They could have have an entrance door and an exit door for the bud bar room just like their club front. The club still looks like its under construction because all the walls are still wood, but it kind of gives it a nice earthy homey feel.


I was first drawn to go to this club because of their Saturday Special. I was hella excited to go inside because of the deal I had nearly forgot my doc's note ><! After filling out a few membership papers and making small talk with one of the volunteer inside the lobby, I got to go into the bud bar =D! My bud bartender showed me all of their popular strains as I was having a budgasm over their delicious selection! My last batch of weed was an ounce of Grand Daddy Purple(I) so I wanted to stay away from purple Indicas, but I ended up smelling a few of them anyway :). I picked up a half 1/8th of Purple Diesel(S), a half 1/8th of Platinum OG Kush(S/I), a free 5g of I don't remember name of weed, a free 1/8th of some other weed I don't remember the name of, AND a free preroll of Cheese(I). The bud I selected were all a part of their top-shelf. The total came out to be $55 for 9.4g, best deal I had at a club yet! Walking out with a big smile on my face, I think I will have to come back another Saturday for the Mendo Purp(I) ;).
